Guwahati – Kaziranga (200 km / 4.5 hrs)
Arrive at Guwahati airport/railway station and drive towards towards Kaziranga National Park - also known as the home of the great one horned Indian rhino. On arrival, check into hotel. Evening enjoy a centrally organized cultural show – the another attraction of Kaziranga National Park, where you will get the chance to see the traditional dance forms of Assamese communities specially the Bihu dance. Return to hotel. Overnight.
Explore Kaziranga National Park
Early morning explore Western Zone of Kaziranga National Park on back of elephant where you will be carried through the tall grass. Meanwhile the morning mists will slowly lift leading to an experience that one cannot forget easily. The elephant safari is the best mean for wildlife viewing as the wild animals are not afraid of the elephants and it is possible to observe them from very closely. Come back to hotel for breakfast and then go for Jeep safari in the Central Zone. Later you may visit nearby Tea Estates and enjoy the panoramic view of the lush green small tea plants fluttering into the hill slopes. Overnight stay..
Birding at the Panbari Range
Today morning after breakfast set out for a trek in the Panbari range of Kaziranga National Park. Panbari range offers beautiful panoramic view of floodplain ecosystem and is a bird watcher's paradise and home to some exotic species of birds.. Panbari range draws a large number of travellers from all across the world who are more interested in bird watching as you can view many migratory birds as well as some rare exotic birds only found in the region. The White Winged Wood Duck, Great Pied Hornbill, Wreathed Hornbill, Whistling Teal Crested Serpent Eagle, Palla's Fishing Eagle, Greyheaded Fishing Eagle, Swamp Partridge, Bar-headed Goose, Bengal Florican, Storks, Herons and Pelicans are some of the species found here.
Kaziranga to Nameri (68 km/ 2 hrs)
This morning transfer to Bhalukpong or Nameri National Park. This place is an elephant reserve. It is an ideal habitat for a host of other animals including the Tiger, Leopard, Sambar, Dhole (the Asiatic wild dog), Pygmy Hog, Indian wild Bison, Clouded Leopard, Leopard Cat, Muntjac, Gaur, Wild boar, Sloth bear, Himalayan black bear, Capped Langur and Indian giant squirrel. Nameri National Park is a birdwatcher’s paradise with over 300 species. The white winged wood duck, great pied hornbill, wreathed hornbill, rufous necked hornbill, black stork, ibisbill, blue-bearded bee-eaters, babblers, plovers and many other birds make Nameri National Park their home. Check in at your hotel. Natures walk to the Jia Bhoreli (Kameng River) and back. Evening you are free for leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.
Nameri - Guwahati Depart (202 kms/ 5 hrs)
Early Morning we proceed for River Rafting on the Jia Bhoreli (Kameng River) (optional) and/or Jungle Trekking (optional). After breakfast proceed to Guwahati Airport/Railway Station for onward journey. En-route visit Assam Silk Emporium famous for its Muga Silk products and Jagaran Art Fed Shop known for its bamboo and cane products and tribal artifacts.
